I’ve always dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail without ever considering it a reality. I think I want to change that. A quarter of the trail lies in my home state of Virginia. I think I should start there. Within the next five years I want to hike the 550 miles of the AT in Virginia. That is just over a month on the trail.

Anyone have any major hike experience they want to share? I need to start researching and preparing.
